We’ve only just entered December and I swear I’ve seen the same cheesy Christmas movies over a hundred times. Whether it’s holiday classics like Home Alone and The Miracle on 34th street, or those sappy Hallmark films, where Santa has amnesia and you need to find a christmas bride to save christmas, while a cute kid with poor acting skills works beside a has-been actor like Dean Cain or that guy from Baywatch; they’ve all be played to death.
So why not watch an alternative Christmas movie, one you won’t find on Lifetime or ABC? There’s lights, snow, even Santa, but forget about everything being shiny and happy. These capture the darker side of the holiday season, and I love them all for it.
