If it wasn’t for the scandals, these’d be nice places to visit (13 Photos)
The Little Castle of Apa Street
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Better known as Castelinho da Dua Apa, this castle in the middle of downtown Sao Paulo was commissioned in 1912. Designed to look like a medieval castle, it was built by a wealthy doctor for his wife. They ended up having two sons, and when the doctor passed away in 1937, the sons squabbled over what to do with the castle. As it turns out, it wasn’t up to them. Both of them and their mother were found shot to death by the housekeeper.
The case was deemed a murder suicide, despite the fact that there was only one gun found, with different bullet casings. Also, the trajectories didn’t line up. It remains one of Brazils most mysterious murders and the castle has just fallen further and further into disrepair.
