It could be said that one little baby girl, by the name of Lynlee Boemer, has lived two different lives in her mother’s womb. Once as a struggling baby being slowly ravaged by a tumor, and another chapter as a perfectly healthy babe who couldn’t wait to make her mark on the outside world. Lynlee had to be taken out of her mother’s womb 12 weeks before she was actually born, in order for surgeons to perform a life-saving operation to get rid of a tumor from her tailbone.
The story begins during a standard scan at 16 weeks, when her mother, Margaret Boemer, was told the sobering news that her little girl to be would need surgery.
According to Metro, doctors carefully removed the then 1 lb. 3oz. Lynlee for 20 minutes during a five-hour operation. After the tumor was extracted, Lynlee was put back in her mother’s womb which was then sewn up. Twelve weeks later, Lynlee was born through a caesarean section weighing 5lbs. 5oz — tumor free!
