Irish Proverb:
Drink is the curse of the land. It makes you fight with your neighbor. It makes you shoot at your landlord and it makes you miss him.
With tomorrow’s once-a-year presale of Irish KCCO and Bill O’Murray, we wanted to do something completely ridiculous, and then I saw that episode of The Brady Bunch when they went to Hawaii and I had an idea.
Let’s take the misfits to Ireland and see what happens.
I’m honestly blown away by how theCHIVE has spread, but I’m leveled by the type of people attracted to it – generous, caring, and certifiably crazy (in the best way possible). We found in the Irish all those qualities, but to the nth degree. The Irish Chivers were some of the nicest, most hospitable people we’ve met. Also, I’ve never taken so many shots of Jamison in my entire life.
As I type this, I’m still drunk. Thanks so much to The Church Bar and all our Irish Chivers for coming out to raise a glass with us. Thanks to Katie DeLuca, Karen Garza, and our own Jessie Stone for being generally awesome. We’re here in Ireland for the rest of the week and we’ll be blogging our adventures here as we go along. Currently on a train to Galway.
