Nobody loves criticism, that’s human nature, but apparently the restaurant manager at an establishment known as La Porchetta had no intention of taking mediocre feedback lying down and instead decided it best to take matters into his own hands. The incident took place when a woman named Yesha Callahan left a 3-Star review of the restaurant on Yelp after eating a so-so burger, and thus in response, the manager thought it best to demand a conversation with the customer at her own doorstep at 10 p.m. later that week. Surely, not an overreaction or anything.
The story began with the delivery man showing up at her apartment and imploring her to take the time to write a Yelp review. You know, because feedback can only help any restaurant, right? However, after Yesha followed through honestly, noting the “sorry-looking steak fries,” she received she thought leaving the meal a 3-star review was only fair. She did go on to mention, however, that despite the lackluster meal she was still interested in enjoying more of La Porchetta’s food in the future. So not a glowing endorsement admittedly, but Yesha said nothing to send other customers running away in droves.
But egos will be egos, and the manager felt his reputation had been damaged after reading the review, which is when he decided to knock on the woman’s door requesting further conversation about her review. In addition to pounding on her door around 10 p.m., the man also called the woman after she refused to open up. Not creepy or anything.
