You might have heard that Denver recently decriminalized “magic mushrooms,” AKA psilocybin. It sounds like a very Denver move, but there’s much more to it than just letting people trip in (relative) peace. There are a lot of medical researchers that believe that psilocybin could be used in psychotherapy to treat depression safely, and the bill allows them to do that research in peace.
It’s a noble thing, but we’re only so noble here on this site. We’ve rounded up a collection of hallucinogenic stories for you in “honor” of this moment. Think of this as not only a series of cautionary tales, but also as a list of reasons why medical professionals should use it for noble purposes instead of random civilians.
One last thing: A few of these stories are pretty long, which is why there are fewer in this round-up overall. As fun as these stories can be, you can only deal with so many of them.
