There’s a movie that was released in 2017 called, “Love, Kennedy.” It’s based on the true story of the Utah-based Hansen Family and their daughter – a funny, loving child named Kennedy Hansen who inexplicably begins to lose her sight, then her motor skills, speech, and finally, her cognitive abilities.
It takes years for a diagnosis: Juvenile Batten Disease, an extremely rare, terrible, and terminal prognosis with no known cure. In the movie, and in real life, Kennedy lives an excruciatingly short 16 years, leaving behind a legacy of love and friendship.
