It’s no secret here at the office that we are big fans of just about everything college. Actually, it’s probably more of an unhealthy nostalgic infatuation for most of us. Mac, still has a bobble head replica of himself from his dorm days that he turns to in times of distress. That being said, we felt it necessary to put together a detailed list of the elite party schools in the country in order to properly shine a spotlight on the very best of the best.
However, as you might imagine, we can’t experience life at every school adequately enough to accurately put together a top 20 list, so we needed a little help to back us up. We decided to incorporate the findings of the most credible sources available and then after balancing all the lists together our staff weighed in and (after much debate) managed to put together an ordered list of the top 20 party schools in all the land.
I’m sure many of you are already curious as to who our primary sources are, so let me start out with arguably the most trusted reviewer in the country. The Princeton Review released its annual college rankings recently for the 2014-15 school year. The Review surveys 130,000 students at 379 schools about topics that range from how good the food is to how much students reportedly consume alcohol. Other topics listed in the survey include the popularity of the Greek system, the male-to-female ratio, the aesthetic appeal of the campus, extracurricular activities, this list goes on.
Another reliable source we used was Niche Best Party Schools who also have a detailed numeric breakdown that determines the rankings of 1,196 colleges based on more than 400,000 opinions from nearly 85,000 students. A high ranking indicates that the campus has a vibrant party scene with an array of options and activities both on and off campus to participate in. In addition, students must rate their peers as being fun, outgoing, friendly, and into the party scene in order to receive a high grade.
Now these lists are by far the least subjective of all the lists as they do base their findings strictly on numbers, but they still leave something to be desired. The analyses lacks a soul. So we also factored in a few other lists such as Brobible, Newsweek, Genius, and of course the always fun and reliable Playboy Magazine.
Long story short, we’ve taken our time and did our due diligence on putting theCHIVE’s top 20 party schools list together for you. We hope you enjoy it. So without further delay, here are numbers 20-11.
