If you listened to theCHIVE Podcast, How Facebook Took the Internet, you’ve already heard some of this story but that podcast has been so widely circulated recently, I’ve had many requests to tell this story in prose. If it inspires a few entrepreneurs out there to run your tech company the right way, I’m happy to tell it. This is not our usual fare here; I’ll briefly discuss company finances for example, something I rarely do. This is a business after all. But it helps illustrate how theCHIVE was left holding the internet equivalent to Credit Default Swaps after the publishing bubble burst. I’ve got a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and off we go.
