Learning to talk is a long and confusing road. Mostly for parents trying to decode what their kids are saying. Sometimes that involves deciphering toddler gibberish and other times it means figuring out what their made-up phrase actually means. When I was little I couldn’t say keychain, so I called it a ‘chee-cain.’ Everyone thought it was so funny that nobody corrected me and now I’m an adult who can barely say the word keychain. Anyway, here are stories of some kiddos who took it upon themselves to invent words.
