Conneaut Lake Park – Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania
Opening in 1892, this park was intended to just be a lakeside resort, complete with a hotel, convention hall and private beach. More buildings were added for parties and exhibits, and eventually a steam-powered carousel was added in 1899. Conneaut Park went through several ownership changes starting in 1970, and despite being resurrected by a group of investors in 1996, is still facing financial troubles today.
