I remember the first Mariners’ game that I ever attended when I was young. After moving back to Washington from Hawaii in ’97, my parents took me to the Kingdome and the Mariners’ beat the Dodgers 8-2. This was the first time I ever got to see my favorite player, Ken Griffey Jr., in person and I will ALWAYS remember that day. Seeing my favorite player in that capacity was life-changing for a young fan.

Unfortunately, not all fans have an amazing experience their first time out at the ballpark. With players taking rest days and umpires being so sensitive about even looking their way these days, it is not guaranteed that you will get to see your favorite players in the lineup. This was the case for 6-year-old Abigail.
