Nearly three months ago now, we asked theCHIVERS to help us build a special baseball diamond for a little boy battling brain cancer named DJ and some of his friends. The goal was set at $50,000.
As the tradition goes, the goal was quickly disregarded and destroyed. Instead, theCHIVE community raised $150,000 in hours flat for CTX Ability Sports‘ all-inclusive field for kids with special needs. Oh, and we got to fulfill our dream of writing a giant check when Chive Charities made their largest donation ever, $200,000. With a total of $350,000, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation began construction of the field in Hutto, TX.
