My sister and I would race to the tree every Christmas morning to be the first person to find the hidden pickle ornament. Typically, my mom would move it each year and the first person to locate it would get to begin the gift opening. It has always been a tradition of ours, so I was amazed when I learned that this was not a common occurrence in all homes. So how did this tradition come to be?
