After annual snowplow naming contest, Minnesota will add winners ‘Betty Whiteout’, ‘Edward Blizzardhands’, ‘Scoop Dogg’ and more to their fleet

Every year, Minnesota adds several snowplows to their fleet, and it’s become a tradition to let the public name the new vehicles. This year’s runaway winner was Betty Whiteout, named, of course, in honor of America’s late, great Golden Girl Betty White. The name received 40,024 online votes in the results announced Thursday.
From the top 50 finalists, only 8 names will emblazon the side of a Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) snowplow. Here are the winners, per MnDOT:
