Under the new collective bargaining agreement of the NFL, players are no longer supposed to be suspended for marijuana use. Even Josh Gordon, who has been suspended 6 times since 2013, is being reinstated in the league following his appeal.
In the case of Cowboys lineman La’el Collins, he is now being suspended for NOT taking a drug test. The lineman was suspended earlier this month for give games due to a long series of missteps that included skipping tests and attempting to bribe the drug test operator in an attempt to bypass the drug test that wouldn’t even end in a suspension.
