Another week of Top Comments comes with a question for you all? So I have loved doing the Top Comment prize winners of the month over the past year, but my only issue is that at the end of the day we only select from the 30+ upvoted comments, that are then entered into a pool to win a prize if your name is drawn. There’s nothing wrong with this for the record, however, I was wondering if maybe we could try to bring you all into the mix by having you nominate and vote for your favorite comments of the month. But before I get ahead of myself, is this something that would interest you all?
I don’t have the details fleshed out at all on how to make this work best, but the overall idea is that I can select several of my favorite comments from over each month from the already curated ‘Top Comments of the Week’ posts, along with taking on a few nominations from you guys on a newly created iChive page dedicated to #TopComments (basically just top comments you liked from the ‘Top Comment of the Week’ galleries OR top comments that you loved that didn’t get chosen at all. And from there I’d have an end of the month post where you all Vote, where we choose one winner from a list of roughly 25+ Comments (usernames photoshopped out so there are less popularity contests & biases). The winner takes all.
So what do you guys think? Mull it over, and let me know if you believe it would be a bit more fun to be a part of the decision making process on who nabs the coveted Silver Murray BFM coin each month for the Top Comment. And if you’d rather I do the random pool lottery winners, I can stick to that process easily too, as I did all year. I’m all ears.
