These workers turned otherwise boring and monotonous tasks into impressive feats through the power of repetition. Cutting scallops. Pouring ketchup. Blowing balloons. They are the best in the world at extremely specific tasks, and watching them in action is to behold artistry.
This gallery reminds me of my Great Grandma. She immigrated to America from Sicily in the 1910s and worked on the floor of a lollipop factory as a young girl (very lax labor laws back then). A tray of lollipop sticks would come down, and she would use her thumbs to push the tray into a machine. Over and over. All day. Day after day. The fact that the factory mass produced lollipops might make it sound cushy, but I assure you it was not. To the day she died in the 1990s, she had a groove in each thumb, exactly the shape and size of a lollipop stick, where her bones had been malformed from performing the same task for so long. But hey, she could pull a tray down and push it into the machine at such a rapid pace, watching her do her thing was probably an impressive sight. Crazy what many of our families went through to give us better lives in America. But I digress. Here are some seriously fast workers who are not child laborers…
