By now, many of you are familiar with the Fyre Festival, the Bahamas Island luxury music fest-turned Hunger Games. Fyre began as viral campaign promoted by Ja Rule, a tech entrepreneur, and Insta-famous models promising ‘The best food, art, music and more.’
The festival never materialized, it quickly devolved into a wildly disorganized island disaster. The luxury living spaces turned out to be nothing more than flimsy tents. There was no cuisine from famous chefs as promised, the musicians were warned at the last minute to stay away, and millennials got to experience what it’s like to be a refugee.
