Last 9/11 search dog gets hero’s salute during last visit to vet (Video)

Bretagne (pronounced “Brittany”) was the last living 9/11 search and rescue dog. At almost 17 years old, the former search and rescue dog took her final walk into the veterinarian’s. During her long life, she assisted 300 other rescue dogs in the rubble of Ground Zero, trudged through the floods of Hurricane Katrina, and embraced thousands of special needs students across elementary schools in Texas. Last year she was flown back to New York for her sweet 16 and treated like royalty, which you can view HERE.

An amazing life for an amazing dog.
