Thompson was an iconic writer, known for his invention of “Gonzo Journalism”, where he would become a part of the articles he was writing by throwing himself into the subject with (extremely) reckless abandon. You may be familiar with Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, the film based on his hedonistic book of the same name.
