Chive Charities has a bit of a reputation for ‘hitting you in the feels’ and ‘cutting onions’ while you try and read the stories that pop up weekly on theCHIVE. We offer our sincere apologies if you were ever sniffling through a meeting or had to explain to your children why you were sobbing into your scrambled eggs. We understand. We write those stories, we go through all the same emotions – they are truly as inspiring as they sound. What makes those stories so touching are not only the people who are brave enough to reach out for a helping hand, but the community that is there waiting to help them up.
Each week, we give grant items from the Chive Fund to someone that needs it. Whether they have a rare disease, require mobility assistance, or are a struggling veteran returning from war, those are our heroes. Every single one. They are the ones who make us excited to do what we do, and continue to inspire us to be better. But on the other side of the veil are the behind-the-scenes superheroes, the ones who want to make the world a better place but don’t necessarily care about the recognition. These are our Chive Charities Members. Once a year, they meet for a night called the Chive Charities Green Gala. To call it our favorite night of the year would be an understatement.
So, it’s almost that time again! The 3rd Annual Green Gala is only a few months away.

If you are a Green member and you’ve attended a Gala before… you know that it’s an experience that is almost impossible to put into words. For those of you who have signed up to be a Green member and plan on attending your first Gala, we will try to explain what the night entails.
Tears, laughs, and toasts. Not necessarily in that order. Although no one throws a party like theCHIVE, this one is special because it honors the people who inspire us to do what we do. The charity is the heart of theCHIVE. Humor and hotness are great – and important – but the humanity aspect is what drives us forward.
