The World Video Game Hall of Fame in Rochester NY announced the new nominees for 2016 induction. The list includes stalwarts like Sonic the Hedgehog and Final Fantasy, along with some more foreign imports like Nürburgring.
All of the nominees (full list below) have had an “undeniable impact on the world of gaming and popular culture,” The Strong said in a statement. Many of the nominees are games that did not make it in the first ballot.
Last years they inducted 6 games into the hall: Super Mario Bros. Tetris, Pong, Pac-Man, Doom, and World of Warcraft.
