Draft One: A Star Wars Story
George Lucas had a workable draft of a space-themed saga by 1975, and it was called Adventures of the Starkiller, Episode One: The Star Wars. It eventually became the basis for A New Hope, but it was very hardcore, very long and VERY different. Luke Skywalker was preceded by Luke Starkiller, a Jedi-in-training who studied under his uncle Owen. His classmates are his brother and sister, as well as his cousin Leia. Chewbacca resembled was gray with giant fangs and shorts. Oh yeah, and the Force was called “the Force of Others.”
