In 1908, after Congress had adjourned for the Summer, Attorney General Charles Bonaparte used Department of Justice funds to employ 34 people, some being former secret service officers, to work in a new investigative agency. Since then, the FBI has undergone many changes and chased down some famous criminals. Though they’ve been out in the open all this time, the FBI still remains a relative mystery to many Americans.
