The fabric of a community has so many brilliant colors, including and especially red, white, and blue, and so many pockets of beauty and compassion. Today, we’ll stitch ourselves into the fabric of Roz’s story in spectacular fashion, I think.

The goal is set at $30,000, and to sweeten the offer, a tech company in nearby Dayton called STRATACACHE will match every dollar you donate, up to $30,000. Every dollar you donate is worth double. And every dollar past that goal will go to badly needed home improvements, including flooring and trim work in the kitchen, and installing safety rails on both sides of the family’s front porch step.

Edit: It took only a few hours to blast through the $30,000 goal. In true Chive fashion, the giving velocity increased after the goal was hit. I just spoke to Roz’s mother, Anne:

“Roz says that she is SUPER DUPER amazed at how awesome strangers are! She is blown away that people who don’t know us are being so generous. She can’t wait to be like all the other kids getting in a car with ease and not feel people staring at her.

We never dreamed we’d hit this goal and they tell us that Chive Nation doesn’t tend to stop when a goal is hit! If these generous donations continue we wanted to let you know we will finally complete the many home improvement projects we haven’t been able to afford to do that will make our home safer for Roz. We will be fixing our uneven flooring and incomplete trim work in the kitchen as well as installing safety rails on both sides for our front porch steps. But you’ve done more than enough, we are so grateful. THANK YOU!!!”
