Let me start by stating that the movies mentioned here are just scratching the surface of the overall greatest movie intros ever created, there are far too many to cover. However, hopefully, this sampling will get you guys to share some of your own favorites in the comments. Also, mind you, these are the best intros, not necessarily the best movies.
I’ll begin with one of my own random intro favorites with the start to the first Resident Evil film where the Red Queen computer decides to “contain” the outbreak of the virus by brutally murdering an entire building of people. The last death shown is particularly brutal as a woman tries to escape from an elevator that’s slightly ajar. But just as she’s getting close to wiggling out you hear the break system start to unlock and the elevator ultimately drops (then rises) showing the girl’s stuck head about to get decapitated. I had chills, and I was so ready to see the rest of the film.
