The Roman Colosseum is a must visit for any history fan. Built around 70-80 AD, the Colosseum is estimated to seat 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and was primarily used for gladiator contests and public spectacles like animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battle, and dramas based on Roman mythology. They even had mock sea battles for a little bit.
