Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones is 76 today. Zeppelin, the Who, the Stones…the members of these bands can seem more like folk heroes than actual people.
Yet to refer to John Paul Jones as “Led Zeppelin‘s bassist,” one of the best musical titles in history, is almost insulting to a man who has accomplished so much as a multi-instrumentalist and arranger.
