Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is one of the ultimate “lightning in a bottle” movies. It’s seriously difficult to imagine any modern film studio allowing a film about time-traveling high schoolers trying to ace a history presentation by collecting figures throughout time getting the green light. It’s even more miraculous that the film was a smash success, earning four times the film’s budget upon release.
With such a wild premise, it might not come as a surprise that it went through many iterations before it ever hit the big screen. In honor of our Most Excellent Bill & Ted Coin Collection, I want to take you through a series of parallel timelines to see versions of their adventures that didn’t make it to the final cut.
