I want to phrase some of this very carefully.
I don’t think it’s fair when directors get shoved into a box, because sometimes a director’s greatest work can be when they step WAY outside of their wheelhouse.
But there are certain directors out there we know for their work in the horror genre specifically, and while some of these directors’ names will repeat more than once, that doesn’t mean we don’t associate them with horror any less. All it does is make us love them even more for their versatility.
(And upfront, I want to say I’m NOT including Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies. Not that they’re bad, the first two are great. I wanted to highlight other movies and those were too easy to pick.)
