If you grew around the 80s or early 90s like myself there’s a decent chance you couldn’t get enough of the idiotic, big-hearted, buffoon known as Ernest P Worrell. But behind all the silliness and “dumb comedy,” as critics would widely label the character, was a brilliant actor and a fascinating man.
The lasting impression films like Ernest Goes To Camp (or later Jail), Ernest Saves Christmas, and my favorite, Ernest Scared Stupid, left on me still brings a smile to my face every time I see the moronic icon on TV, or in my mind.
So let’s take a deeper look at the beautiful man behind the character that so many of us grew to quote and love!!
