I’ve made it no secret that one of my favourite directors of all time is Guillermo Del Toro. His films are just beautifully done, with compelling stories and amazing visuals. But for every awesome film of his that we’ve gotten, there are at least 3 or more that he’s said he’s working on, then abandoned. In fact, he’s known for his insane worth ethic and endless ideas, and fascinating love for other films.
Thankfully, he’s a gentlemen when it comes to passing on his ideas when he can’t complete them, so we get other directors’ films such as The Hobbit, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark & The Orphanage, but with a little bit of his flair. But this sharing only happens rarely, and we’re left with his ideas and thoughts of what they could have been.
These are a huge loss to movies.
