Yesterday, as I was staring at Twitter, I saw an onslaught of jokes about people going to their “private island,” and I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on.
That’s because I don’t really follow the life of Kim Kardashian (unless she’s partnered up with Vivid Entertainment). Turns out, she made a pretty goddamn absurd Tweet about being on a private island for a party where they could “pretend things were normal for a brief moment in time.”
I’m not going to dig into how much fucking money you’d need to have to pull this off at all, but it inspired a large number of Twitter accounts (including some corporate accounts) to parody the Tweet and offer up their own “private islands.”
