When I was growing up, the smartest pet we ever owned was a cat named Allie (that’s her on the left, the cat on the right is Fiona). She would learn tricks we taught our dog Zoey just by watching Zoey perform them over the course of about a month. She also had some odd tendencies (she was scared of shoes, not people wearing them, just shoes in general), but there was something wildly intelligent behind her eyes.
