As a young man, Johann Huibers had dreams of great floods in his home country of the Netherlands, but it wasn’t until 1993, when reading the story of Noah to his children, that Huibers decided to bring his own ark to life. Huibers spent years working on a replica that he completed in 2006. However, he wasn’t fully satisfied with the finished product because it was only 1/3 the size of the descriptions in the Bible.
