When you put masses of people together in enclosed places and something worth noting happens, it’s not always in your best interest to broadcast exactly what’s going on over the intercom. It can be down-right embarrassing and dangerous. For that reason, many organizations have come up with a series of “codes” they will announce over an intercom so that employees know what is going on and what actions to take.
This list is by no means definitive, but it may give you some insight into what sort of shenanigans are going on behind the scenes next time you’re forced to go to Walmart.
