DeVonta Smith is leading the charge for Heisman this year. While the award is MEANT to honor the country’s most outstanding player, we constantly see it go to running backs and quarterbacks. While Smith has made a strong case to become just the 4th wide receiver to take home the trophy, only time will tell if he actually does. Now winning the Heisman is definitely not a lock at a strong NFL career as more Heisman winners have gone undrafted out of college than have made the NFL Hall of Fame but that doesn’t mean Smith will be the same.
