A guy was selling his truck on Craigslist, and this “buyer” sent a fake check to the seller for more than the asking amount. Rather than canceling the check and sending another one, the “buyer” asks for a wire transfer of the remaining difference. The plan was for the victim to send the difference before the bank realizes the check was fake, and the scammer runs off with the money before anyone notices.
Clearly, the seller was not having it.
