There’s nothing more spooky and unnatural than an unexplained disappearance. When there’s evidence, it’s easy to comprehend the how and the why ands to start the process of coming to terms with the grief and the loss. Not that it’s easily achievable or entirely possible, but it’s at least a start. But when there’s zero trace and no explanation; our minds start to play tricks on us and we’re left obsessing over the possibilities. It should be impossible for anything to disappear without leaving a trail; in fact, it’s scientifically impossible.
That’s what makes these unexplained disappearances so freaky; the fact that people just disappeared.
