Hot Dogs
Joey Chestnut might be the perfect ambassador of American’s infatuation with hot dog consumption over the 4th of July Weekend. But the reality is that the summer staple of any American grill isn’t red, white, and blue in the least. According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, origins place the first dog anywhere from Coburg to Vienna to Frankfurt. But, sadly no claim places the original hot dog in New York or Chicago, I’m sad to report.
