When our friends at NHTSA asked if I could make a sick beat using nothing but car noises, I told them to buckle up, because I have no idea how to do that.
We wired my Jeep up with mics and a camera and drove around Austin for a day. Unfortunately, Ben didn’t get the memo about buckling up. In 2016, seat belt use in passenger vehicles saved an estimated 14,668 lives. The national use rate is at 90.1 percent, but nearly 27.5 million people including Ben still don’t buckle up. Don’t be like Ben, buckle up.
(Some tech stuff: This was all built with audio we recorded from the shoot. No synths, no extra samples or drums. I used Audition to clean up the samples, Ableton to compose everything and arrange, and the super talented James Crouch cut it together in Premiere for the video edit.)
