A little backstory here. Officer Joseph Rodgers of the Baltimore Police Department was dealing with a prior landlord dispute when a magnitude of gunshots flooded the neighborhood.
Officer Rodgers bravely ran towards the scene without any hesitation and caught the alleged gunman. The shooter, unfortunately, killed a young man and badly injured his grandfather.
Department spokesman T.J. Smith said Rodgers’ “actions in the face of an ‘active shooter situation’ show that officers are doing their jobs, and are more representative of the actions of officers than the scandals that have made headlines lately.”
The officer’s bravery brings this quote to mind, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” -Nelson Mandela
